Apple TV

Note: An Apple ID account is required to complete this setup. If you do not have one please complete the Apple account registration process before starting.

Note: A HDMI cable is not included in the Apple TV kit. If you do not have a HDMI 2.0 or later cable please purchase one before starting

External Wire Connections

Connect the Apple TV to a power supply using the provided power cord and to the display using a third party HDMI cable

The first time the Apple TV is turned on or after a factory reset the initial set up screen will appear. Using the remote follow the on screen prompts selecting as follows:

Language: English

Country: United Kingdom

Set up your Apple TV: Set Up Manually

Select WIFI (if not connecting via ethernet) and enter password

Sign in with Apple ID

Location Services: disable

Siri: Don' Use Siri

Aerial screensaver: Not Now

Diagnostics and Usage: Don't Send

Analytics: Don't Share

Terms and Conditions: Agree

After completing the initial set up you will be taken to the Home screen

From the Home screen using the remote select the App Store icon

From the App Store screen select the search icon in the top right

Using the on screen keyboard input 'platopus'

Select the Platopus Display app

From the app page select 'Get'

Depending on your Apple ID set up preferences you may be asked enter your password. If so enter the password and select 'Get'

The app will now install and when complete select 'Open'

Activating the App

The first time the app is opened the display not activated message will appear - select ACTIVATE

Settings

Press the menu button on the remote until you return to the main screen.

From the home screen select the settings icon

From the settings menu select General and then Sleep

In the Sleep After menu select Never
